Paul Latta, D.D.S., F.A.G.D.

Dr. Paul Latta is a native Tylerite who attended Tyler Junior College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with high honors from The University of Texas at Austin.  He worked for Delta Drilling Company in Odessa and Tyler and the Trane Corporation in Tyler prior to his decision to continue his education at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas.

Dr. Latta has practiced General and Cosmetic Dentistry in Tyler since 1991.  He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to meet his patients’ needs in a professional manner and a caring environment.  He views his staff and his patients as extensions of his family.

Dr. Latta maintains membership in the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the East Texas Dental Society, the Smith County Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.  He has served as Chairman of the Texas New Dentist Committee for the Texas Dental Association and as Secretary/Treasurer of the East Texas Dental Society.  Dr. Latta also held the roles of Treasurer, Vice-President and President of the Smith County Dental Society.

Dr. Latta has been awarded the title of Fellow by the Academy of General Dentistry and Good Fellow by the Texas Dental Association.

Dr. Latta believes that his skills in dentistry should be utilized to give back to the community he enjoys.  He serves as a volunteer dentist with the Texas Mission of Mercy, Give Kids A Smile, the Bethesda Dental Clinic, the St. Paul Children’s Foundation Dental Clinic and People Attempting To Help (PATH).  Dr. Latta has also traveled to Belize to perform volunteer dentistry in very remote locations.

Dr. Latta is active with numerous other volunteer positions and nonprofit organizations.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Tyler Junior College and previously served on the Tyler Junior College Foundation Board.  He has served as the Chairman of the TJC Foundation Golf Tournament Committee.  Dr. Latta was a long-time member of the Tyler Junior College Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting Advisory Board and served as Co-Chairman of a TJC Nursing and Health Sciences Facility Task Force.  He also served for over 25 years as Chairman of the ETMC and UT Health East Texas Institutional Review Board and is a former member of the UT Health East Texas Long-Term Acute Care Hospital Board.

Dr. Latta is a past Chairman of the St. Paul Children’s Foundation golf tournament.  He served Historic Tyler as Board President and is also a past President of the Parent Services Center Board.  Dr. Latta has served as President of the All Saints Episcopal School Athletic Booster Club Board and was a member of Leadership Tyler Class VII.

Dr. Latta and his wife (Kay) are members of Calvary Baptist Church where her serves as a Deacon and an Adult Sunday School teacher.  Kay is an officer and shareholder at the Tyler accounting firm of Henry & Peters, P.C.  She has been employed there since graduating from The University of Texas at Austin in 1983.  They are extremely proud of their two sons.  Andrew is a proud Baylor University graduate and is a Senior Marketing Analyst with Home Depot.  Matthew recently received his Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Stephen F. Austin State University and is in private practice in Lufkin, Texas.

In their spare time, the Lattas enjoy traveling with family and friends, golf, community volunteering and enjoying the great outdoors with their motorhome.

Michelle, Office Manager

Michelle joined our team as Office Manager in April of 2019. Growing up in Tyler, she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2010. Michelle then attended the University of North Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. She keeps busy as an aunt to 3 little ones and is a dog mom to 3 pups! Michelle and her partner, Josh, enjoy staying active, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Jody, Dental Hygienist

Jody began working as a Dental Hygienist with Dr. Latta upon graduation from the Tyler Junior College Dental Hygiene program in July of 1998. She is married and has two active stepdaughters, Kinsey and Milee, and a boxer, Zoey. Jody and her husband, Miles, enjoy attending sporting events, concerts, traveling, playing softball and bowling in local leagues.

Jamie, Dental Hygienist

Dental Hygienist, Jamie, joined our practice in June of 2004. She is married and has three children, Colton, Baylie and Cutler. They stay busy as a family keeping up with kids playing sports and raising livestock.  In her spare time, Jamie enjoys gardening with her husband.

Denika, Dental Hygienist

Denika graduated in 2019 as a dental hygienist and loves working one on one with people in the clinical setting. She joined Dr. Latta’s office in 2024 after taking some time off to be a SAHM. She has one child whom you will hear her often talk about. She has 3 dogs, 1 cat, chickens, and goats, with possibly more to come. In her spare time, you’ll see her outdoors, at sporting events, coaching, traveling, fishing, or even camping. She loves anything nature and wants to travel the world someday.

Asia, Dental Assistant

Dental assistant, Asia, began working at Latta Family Dentistry after graduating from the CDA, RDA program at Tyler Junior College in 2020. Asia and her husband, Ty, welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Alivia to the world in March of 2023. They have one tuxedo cat named Mila. Asia enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, as well as cuddling up on the couch with a good book.

Susie, Dental Assistant

Susie joined our practice in September of 2024 shortly after graduating from Tyler Dental Assistant School. Susie grew up in the small town of Rusk, TX. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks while listening to podcasts, road trips with her boyfriend and spending time with her family.
